Selank
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue of the naturally occurring immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin. Developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics in Russia, it has been studied for both anxiolytic and nootropic properties in research models.
Mechanism of Action
Research suggests Selank may modulate the expression of BDNF and affect the balance of T-helper cell cytokines. It is also studied for its interaction with GABA-ergic systems and its influence on enkephalin metabolism.
Research Background
Selank research has explored its dual potential as both a cognitive enhancer and anxiolytic compound, with studies conducted primarily in Russian research institutions since the 1990s.
